• Summary: On Sep. 11th, 2017, the 13th BJSAVA Annual Congress soliciting articles activity and the second China Clinical Veterinary History Competition for RedDog prize, host by Beijing small animal veterinary association and RedDog Medical Nutrition Research Institute, closed successfully in Beijing International Convention Centre.


    On September 11, 2017, the 13th BJSAVA Annual Congress soliciting articles activity and the second China Clinical Veterinary History Competition for RedDog prize, host by Beijing small animal veterinary association and RedDog Medical Nutrition Research Institute, closed successfully in Beijing International Convention Centre and on the welcome reception, the grand award ceremony was held for the final prizer winner Sun Liyuan, Fu Xuelian, Yang Xiaodan, Long Lunzhan, HongXingWei, Chen Likun, Liu Conghai, Huang Jiani, Hou Lina, Guo panpan.

    This activity lasted six months, since call for papers from April, 2017 to July 30th, 2017, we received 127 articles but allowing 30 people to obtain the pass to the rematch after round by round screening; On September 10th, 26 clinical veterinarians from Beijing, wuhan, shenzhen, guangzhou, chengdu and other regions attend on site to perform comments. Eventually, 10 participants were filtered based on onsite comprehensive scores from judge to obtain the final award of the competition as well as acquired opportunity to access to the BJSAVA Annual Congress to share each presentation.

    In order to ensure the fairness, justice and authority of this review, we specially invited four industry experts as judges: Vice President Wang Ming of Chinese Veterinary Medical Association, Professor Liu Zhongjie from China agricultural university, Mrs. Zhang Xiaoyuan from Beijing Vocational College of Agriculture, CEO Dr. Dong Yi of Puppy Town animal hospital.

    The evaluation strictly upholds the principle of "fairness and justice" and the activity treats equally to all the participants via drawing lots to determine speech sequence. At the finale of the speech, both participants and attendees benefited a lot from delicate and expert comments to the speech in various aspects through 8 criteria set forth by our 4 judges.

    Participants who competed in the activity are the youth and outstanding kinds of veterinary medicine that the judges put forward relevant suggestions regarding flaws and shortcoming of their speech while identify their comprehensive performance and especially give detailed guidance, such as speech intonation, speed, paper introduction in the speaking skills, essay writing.

    After the comment and evaluation, Mr. Wang Ming proceeded summary of overall the competition situation. While encouraging clinical veterinarians to be on duty, he emphasized to learn and be industrious and diligent about writing articles, which can improve personal comprehensive ability. Finally, Mr. Wang gave two advices: first, to suffer is a blessing. We should work to pursue the growth of value rather than the growth of the excessive pursuit of benefit; Second, kungfu is from practice. I believe that all of you will have a lot of gaining.

    The competition selected 1 star of RedDog clinical nutrition obtained by Sun Li yuan, author of “retrospective analysis of 21 cases of canine hydropericardium”; 2 New progress awards are obtained by Fu Xuelian, Yang Xiaodan, whose entries are “case analysis of one ventriculoperitoneal treatment to dogs congenital hydrocephalus” and “Case report of the first domestic case of pet rabbit being operated nephrotomy in ventral pathway to remove kidney stones (calcium carbonate) " respectively. Seven potential Newcomer awards are obtained by Long Lunzhan with work of "Report of one canine Tibial osteotomy by delamination of patella and front cruciate ligament rupture”, HongXingWei with work of " Retrospective analysis of double J ureteral stents treatment to 6 cases of feline ureteral blockings”, Chen Likun with work of “ Case report of one applied CT angiography in the diagnosis of canine hepatic portal-systemic shunts (PSS)”, Liu Conghai with work of “Discussion on the Application of the negative pressure drainage system in canine postoperative seroma", Huang Jiani with work of “Treatment on canine skin cutaneous malignant melanoma skin, Hou li-na with work of “diagnosis and treatment of cases of canine Addison's crisis” and Guo Panpan with work of “the influence of propofol compound ketamine or lidocaine by intravenous anesthesia on canine hemodynamics”.

    Activity has come to an end. All participants had shared their knowledge and judges dedicated rigorous, serious and careful review, all of which enriched the successful paper contest and we are looking forward to more wonderful moments to share in the next year.
